Claims Notification

In the event of a claim:

  1. Notify Libra of your claim as soon as possible
  2. Take immediate steps to protect/secure your property and prevent further damage occurring
  3. If possible take photographs
  4. Retain all damaged goods for inspection
  5. Obtain estimates for the damage caused. Ideally at least two comparative estimates would be useful
  6. If it is a Theft or Malicious Damage claim, this must be reported to the Police and a crime reference number obtained.
  7. Where appropriate, bills and receipts for damaged goods should be supplied to verify values
  8. For further details on claims and reporting procedures please refer to your policy booklet.

IMPORTANT

  • It is your duty to ensure that you provide accurate details of the loss
  • All claims are recorded on various databases to which other insurers have access
  • Insurers may exchange information about previous claims
  • Overstatement or exaggeration of your losses could invalidate your policy and lead to rejection of your claim. In certain instances, this could be treated as a criminal matter
